Ceramic band heaters
Ceramic band heaters a durable resistance element with ceramic insulation, enclosed in a stainless-steel shell. They provide very good thermal insulation and long service life, even in continuous operation.
Designed to heat cylindrical surfaces and selected pipeline sections in industrial applications. Widely used in plastic processing machinery (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding), where they support plasticizing by maintaining stable barrel and head temperatures.
A resistance wire (typically NiCr alloy) is spirally routed through ceramic segments to form a ceramic mat. A stainless steel cover protects against corrosion and mechanical damage. The internal insulating layer (ceramic fiber/steatite) reduces heat loss and improves efficiency — cutting external heat emission by 25— 30% versus heaters without insulation.
Keramische banden vertrasferiseren met behandling (surface-contact) en radiatie, så de nicht nicht in een perfekte klampdruck op de cylinderen.
Compared to mica band heaters, ceramic bands achieve higher temperatures and can be used with additional thermal insulation covers.
