The heater is the element responsible for heating the water in the washing machine to a set temperature. A characteristic symptom that testifies to its damage is inaccurate dressing of clothes caused by insufficient heating of water. However, it happens that the signs of wear are completely opposite. A burned-out heater can work too hard, causing clothing to shrink. However, before you decide to replace it, check if there is actually a breakdown. Perhaps the cause of the problems is a faulty temperature sensor or a faulty thermostat?

Identification of the heater: how to find and recognize the damaged part in the washing machine?

To determine whether there is damage to the heater, you do not need to use specialized tools. First of all, perform the disassembly of the heater from the washing machine. Typical symptoms of damage are visible to the naked eye. Depending on the nature of the breakdown, the heater may be covered with a black coating or a layer of hard water sediment. The causes of malfunctions can also be mechanical damage, such as cracks, deformation or holes. If there are no major signs of wear on the part, you can make a resistance with a meter. If the multimeter reading will show 0, you need to replace the part.
